Yoga West is grateful to share with you this transformative element of Kundalini Yoga. Yoga West Group Sadhana is a commitment to spending 2 ½ hours once a week to cultivate your connection to your higher consciousness. In Sadhana we give equal emphasis to movement and meditations.

The Power of Amrit Vela

Ideally, Sadhana begins during “Amrit Vela”—the ‘ambrosial hours’—two and a half hours just before sunrise. Then the sun is at a sixty-degree angle to the Earth and the energy you put into your sadhana creates maximum results. The world is quieter and it’s easier to meditate before the activity of the day begins. Doing sadhana at any time of the day or night will benefit you even if you are not able to practice in the early hours.

Sadhana strengthens the meditative mind.
The meditative mind discerns environmental stimuli so you can act with wisdom instead of reaction.

It’s an opportunity to listen to "The Infinite”.
We balance right and left hemispheres of the brain, sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, as well as other physical and energetic systems.

Kundalini Yoga Sadhana has been happening in various formats for over 50 years, beginning in 1969.
You will be able to find Kundalini Sadhana practices online and in person all over the world.

Sunday Morning Sadhana at Yoga West Eugene

Experience the transformation of this sacred practice for yourself.

Whether you join us online or in the studio, feel free to come and go as you please—participating as much or little as you wish.

Sadhana begins at 4:30 with the chanting of Japji

Known as the “Song of the Soul”, this sacred poem was composed by the first Guru—Guru Nanak—in the 15th century.

The powerful sound current of Japji resonates throughout the cells of your entire being. It requires no recitation or understanding of the language. By simply feeling the current, you receive deep healing and transformative benefits.

5 AM begins classic kundalini yoga kriyas

Morning Sadhana is available to all levels of Kundalini Yoga. While you won’t receive as detailed instruction as a traditional class, you will be given modifications to tailor the movements according to your needs. Always listen to your body for guidance.

6 AM begins meditation with Aquarian Sadhana

Aquarian Sadhana is comprised of seven powerful mantras. Just like Japji, neither recitation nor understanding is required to receive the healing and transformative benefits. Simply enjoy the presence of divinity as you meditate on the sacred sound.
